I didn't get to go to Botcon, so on Saturday morning I watched the episode of RiD that was on. True, I had already seen it. Hell, I already had it on tape. But I watched it anyway. I did enjoy it, though. I like RiD.

The coolest thing, though, was the commercial for Fox's new kids programming schedule, the Fox Box. Ignoring for the moment the fact that it really, really reminds me of both the Transformers: Generation 2 TV show's Cybernet Space Cube and UPN's Power Block that Beast Wars originally aired under, the Fox Block has some new show that really resembles one of the best shows of all time, Denkou Choujin Gridman! Overfiend had mentioned this to me before, but it was cool to see it with my own eyes.

I suspect this is the long-rumored US version of one of the most recent Ultraman shows. Gridman was an Ultraman-esque show sponsored by Takara instead of Bandai, and with Takara toys instead of Bandai ones. It fucking ruled. A sequel was supposed to follow, known as Gridman Sigma. There were even pictures in magazines of the new costume. I have a scan of Gridman Sigma shaking hands with Gridman, in fact. Unfortunately, Gridman Sigma fell through and a new Ultraman show appeared not long after. The new Ultraman design actually resembles Gridman Sigma a lot, so I suspect they just reworked Gridman Sigma into the new Ultraman show. Anyway, I'm anxiously awaiting this one in the fall!

Oh yeah, and here's an early update to MFO. Enjoy.

I am definitely getting sick. It seemed for a bit like it was just a short thing that was going away, but after staying away for several days it hit me like a load of bricks. I feel like I have a Transformer wedged in my stomach or something. Shit.

On the bright side, my Super Valkyrie's eye sticker finally arrived! Thank you, Hitman! He is blind no more. We also have MFO almost ready for this week, so I may just put the sucker up early.
